Dr. Davalbhakta trained at B.J. Medical College, Pune, followed by a Masters in Plastic Surgery from Mumbai University in 1996, completed with distinction. He then spent the better part of a decade training in England.
This included time at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, and at the St. Andrews Centre for Plastic Surgery in Chelmsford.
Body contouring is a significant part of his practice, including VASER Hi-Def liposuction and tummy tucks. He also performs facial rejuvenation, both surgical and non-surgical, including facelifts, Botox and fillers.
He also performs reconstructive and cosmetic breast surgery, including asymmetry cases, and rhinoplasty.
He also founded Aesthetics Medispa and Advanced Aesthetics. This centre was later recognized by the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences as the first in India cleared to run Fellowship training in Cosmetic Surgery, with Dr. Davalbhakta as its first Fellowship Director and Professor.
From 2022 to 2023 he was President of the Indian Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. Before that, National Secretary, 2015 to 2018. He holds the equivalent National Secretary post today for India within the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and he sits on the scientific board at IMCAS Paris. He's also a Life Member of the Association of Plastic Surgeons of India.
He worked through three fellowships at St. Andrews, one after another: hand and microsurgery, breast surgery, then cosmetic surgery. From there, a Consultant post at South Manchester University NHS Trust Hospital. There, alongside a colleague named Niranjan, he worked on pedicled perforator flap techniques and approaches to breast asymmetry. That work made it to international conferences eventually.
The Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow came in 2000. He's still registered with the UK's General Medical Council, and back home, with the Maharashtra Medical Council.
