About

About the Author

Dr. Aakanksha Kadam directs My Aesthetic + Clinic and Wellness Centre at MGM Medical College, Vashi, and teaches as Associate Professor in the department's Plastic Surgery unit. Between the clinic and the classroom, she stays close to both sides of the field: the surgeries that need a steady hand and years of training, and the newer, non-surgical treatments patients increasingly ask for first.

Every patient's plan starts from what actually suits them, not a fixed menu of procedures. Some come in for reconstructive work. Others want a laser series, a scar addressed, or nothing more invasive than a good skin plan. Dr. Kadam consults in English, Hindi and Marathi. Her medical registration number is 2012/03/0467.

Specialty

Clinical Expertise

Her clinical work covers a fairly wide band:

  • Aesthetic surgery, facial and body
  • Reconstructive and microvascular surgery
  • Scar treatment and long-term scar management
  • MNRF and fractional CO₂ laser
  • Acne, and the scarring it leaves behind
  • Hair fall and hair loss
  • Skin rejuvenation and pigmentation
  • Non-surgical aesthetic procedures for patients who'd rather skip the operating table

Scars in particular have turned into a real area of focus for her. She organised a Masterclass on Scar Management at MGM Medical College in February 2026, bringing in Dr. Anjay Khandelwal to run live CO₂ laser demonstrations on burn and acne scar patients. It's the sort of event that keeps her own technique current, not just a line on a CV.

She didn't come to aesthetic surgery directly - general surgery came first, and it shows in how she handles the harder reconstructive cases alongside cosmetic ones.

Career

Professional Experience

Director & Aesthetic Plastic Surgeon; Associate Professor, Plastic SurgeryCurrent
My Aesthetic + Clinic and Wellness Centre & MGM Medical College, Vashi

Before that: four years as Assistant Professor at MGM Hospital, Kamothe (2018–2022); a stint in cosmetic surgery at Param Hospital, Thane, under Dr. Medha Bhave in 2023; and, right at the start, two months as a Resident Doctor in General Surgery at Fortis Hospital, Mulund, in 2012.

Continuing Education

Fellowships & Professional Development

She's put in time at a long list of workshops too, from hand and extremity surgery training at Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore, to facial rejuvenation CME with the Plastic Surgeons Association of Nashik, a gender reassignment surgery conference at Apollo Hospital, and burns camps at the National Burns Centre in Airoli.

Academic Record

Publications & Recognition

She's published a handful of case studies over the years - a 2018 paper on functional outcomes after post-burn flexion contractures of the hand, and two earlier ones through the International Organization of Scientific Research: a 2015 case of gossypiboma and a 2014 report on caecal volvulus in a 22-year-old patient. In 2015 she also presented a poster at MASICON, the Maharashtra chapter conference of the Association of Surgeons of India.

Personal

Off the Clock

She spent five years training in Bharatanatyam growing up, and still reads whenever she gets the chance. Not something most bios mention, but it tells you something about the patience the surgical training probably built on.
